A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 109

Good morning, time for a new A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge and our theme is 'animalistic' we would also like you to have a 'little help from the kids' or get your child to make a card to!
I did my usual and didn't read all the info, so when I saw the animal theme last night at 10pm I was in a mad panic!! I made 3 cards yesterday and luckily one of which had a little pup on it! So here is my card. The cards that I had lined up for the kids were cards that they had made for their dad, and uh oh they had no animals on them, so my baby girl is now making one for me literally as I am typing this lol!
Ok card finished, so here is Hollie's card, I laid out the bits for her and she coloured the image and stuck all the bits down by herself, bless her she's only 5 1/2 but takes her time and when she can be bothered to actually sit and colour, does a lovely job!
and here she is at my desk colouring the image, just 10 minutes ago!! (please ignore the state of my desk lol!).For prize details please check out the blog.

I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for this card.

Ok have to dash so sorry for the lack of details, but I have an appointment at the hospital, the dr referred me as I have found a small lump which although he is 90% sure is nothing to worry about wants a second opinion! Oh the joy! To be honest I'm not worried, as I think it is just a little cyst, good job really heh!?!
NB all went well at the hospital, the lump is nothing to worry about, I don't even need to have it removed. phew!

Derek the party dino x 2

I absolutely loved this Little Musings freebie of Derek, and had to print him out immediately, in fact I printed him twice!! Hollie received a party invite yesterday morning for a triple party, 3 of her friends have birthdays in July so decided to combine parties (good idea I thought!) so as soon as I saw Derek I knew I could use him for the boys cards.
I have used the same papers for both cards with different layouts and embellies.
For this first card I have used the Lili of the Valley sketch.and for this one I just laid the papers out until they looked ok lol!! I hand stamped the greeting around the image with my mini letters as you can tell they are a bit wavey but it adds to that handmade feel I guess!!
Well Hollie lost her first tooth on Sunday and lost her second lastnight thanks to her sister! They were having one of their many daily fights, next thing Hollie is at my desk with a mouth dripping with blood and a tooth laying on the floor, thankfully it was a wobbly one!! Very reminisant of Hollie doing exactly the same thing to Lillie several months ago, what goes around comes around heh!?!
I've been into town and had a bit of a spend (on myself), I've wanted a maxi dress for years now, Gok always puts his makeover ladies in one, so decided this year I was having one!! First shop I went in yep I found and bought a black and white one, but really wanted a nice flowered one really! I said as I left the shop that as I had one I would now find loads, and yes I did! So came home with 2 dresses and long top to wear with leggings or my skinny jeans and some dress jewelery. Oh happy days!!

Chairsma Cardz - for the boys

Good morning, hope we are all enjoying the sunshine (saying that I can see some grey clouds heading our way ughh!). Time for a new Charisma Cardz challenge and this we we are asking for something 'for the boys'.
We were very kindly send some images from Sally-Ann to use for our creations, I just loved this Jim collection and knew I had to use all 3 images on the 1 card. It's I guess you would call it concertina style, basically 2 cards stuck together, I then decorated each panel, quite simply, like I would for an individual card, I thought the 'work, rest and play' wording was so fitting, these were just printed of from my pc.
It's hubby's birthday today, I think I have made so many cards for him what with Fathers day challenges etc that he has 2 cards each from me and the girls lol!!! (Would you believe I came accross a Fathers Day card I had made him and not given him last night, guess it's one less to make next year lol!!)
Work! Rest!
Play!
We have 2 fabby sponsors this week Sally-Ann of Digi Stamp Boutique is offering the winner the choice of 10 digi images! and All That Scraps have donated the choice of any C.C. stamp design set or 4 single stamps. So what you waiting for get creating!!
ALSO on the Charisma blog there is a special Wedding challenge to celebrate our 'boss' Carly's upcoming wedding, the prize is AMAZING not only do you win £100 to spend at the Glitterpot but also a brand new Cuttlebug with accessories!!! WOW see HERE for details.
I would like to enter this card into the One Stop Craft challenge which is 'one for the boys.

Good Luck / Best Wishes

Good morning, time for a new A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge and this week our theme is 'good luck/best wishes'.
I have made a card for my ex work colleague who has recently had an operation, hope this will cheer her up a bit bless her. The image is a past freebie image from Pollycraft and is perfect for thank-you or best wishes cards. For prize details please check out the challenge blog, and whilst there check out the rest of the dt examples which are always wonderful.

Well it's the girls school sports day today, well this afternoon, so hubby and I will be going to watch that, must remember to splash on a bit of suncream on or else I could end up a bit sore!! My poor baby girl Hollie came into the house on Friday afternoon upset that she had a wobbly tooth, bless her she said it was sore and that she didn't want anything for tea!! Well the tooth fell out on Sunday whilst we were in the car, it didn't phase her at all and she was full of how she was going to put the tooth under her pillow at bedtime. Ooppsie the fairies forgot to collect it!! She believe's that they were very busy as soooo many other boys and girls also lost teeth the same day. Needless to say that they found time to visit last night lol!!

One for the boys - pirate's ahoy!

No cards made by me now for several days, but here is one 'I made earlier' (a while ago) and never posted! I have used a Dustin Pike dragon freebie, just love this one, the treasure map is a image from google which I printed, then roughly tore it all the way round to rough it up a bit, scrunched it unfolded it and stuck it down! I am entering this into the 'Pirates' challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and the 'one for the boys' challegne over at One Stop Crafts.

A nice day had by all!

Father's day started yesterday for us when we had hubby's mum and dad and brother and sis-in-law round for tea, his mum and dad live about an hour and a half away and for us it is easier if they come here and when they do they can visit bro-in-law as they are only up the road! They arrived in the afternoon and we had a 'party' tea which was very nice.
Today we got up early and went car-booting, spent too much lol!! The girls were treated to a big Bratz dolls house and a 3 wheel bike (pictures at end of post). Then we got home and my mum and dad came round for a roast beef lunch with prawn cocktail for starters and rhubarb crumble or apple pie for desserts, poor dad he couldn't fit any dessert in!!
The girls made daddy Father's Day cards at school, this one was made by Hollie (5) it made me smile I thought the big person was her for starters but no it is daddy he has shorts on and the smaller person is her! this one is Lillie's, very neat lettering! At the moment hubby has put it on the mantlepiece upside down so it reads pap!!!
Here are the girls with daddy busy in the garden!
One of the Father's day pressie's!! We love meerkats especially daddy and I've had this on top of the cupboard waiting to give it to him for about 2 months! It's a solar light for the garden and no he didn't come with the shades they were a pressie too he's just trying them out for size lol!!
and finally a couple of piccies of the girls with their new bike which they have to share! I thought it was wicked, when we bought the dolls house this bike was there to when asked we were told £15 but just before we went back to the car we gave Lillie £10 and told her to go and ask if they would accept it and they said yes, result!!! They love it so it was money well spent!
no she's not made skid marks on the lawn with the bike ha ha, we had some grooves where the trailer had been parked and are trying to level the lawn!

A 3 month subscription to Scrapbook News and Review and
A spring glitter stack pad from Donna's Den.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 108

Good morning, we have a new A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge and the theme was down to me, so I chose 'Enjoying the sunshine' which most of us have been!! Some of the DT have used images from this weeks sponsor and I think you'll agree they are so sweet!
Not sure whether to give this card to my dad or to one of the girls for their dad lol, hubby's birthday is 4 days after fathers day so you can imagine how difficult it is for me at this time of year buying male presents!!
Our sponsor this week is :
Di has very kindly donated the 6 digi images that the Dt have used as the prize, so don't forget to nip over to the blog and take a look, they as I mentioned above are really sweet! There is also a cute freebie on the blog!
I am entering todays card into the 'one for the boys challenge' challenge over at Cupcake Craft and also into the 'anything but square' challenge at Cute Card Thursday.

Time flies when you're a ballerina!

Yesterday was the big ballet exam for Hollie my youngest, she's only 5, but at rehearsals she seemed the most competant of doing well. She had a few tears even before we left saying she didn't want to go, and she had some more tears once we were there as it seemed they had done everyone's hair and not hers, bless her! We got her settled and when the time came she went off with the other 5 girls quite happily, they were gone about 25mins which is a long time considering the exams Lillie does are about 5 mins!! Now we just have to wait for the results which could be weeks! Here she is posing in her out-fit.
no.1 as she led the group!
This card seems quite fitting!! I love this sweet little dancer image (pre-coloured) from Anne Bodil, pre-coloured images are great when you don't have the will to colour or want to make a quickie card. I have used the sketch from One Stop Craft and added a quote which means I can also enter it into the 'include a quote' challenge at Secret Crafter.and for this card I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. The image is another pre-coloured one and this time it's from Tiddly Inks.

A few challenge cards!

First up is my card for the Sketch and Stash challenge for which I used the wicked freebie image from Pollycraft! Next is my card for the Papertake Weekly challenge for which I have used their sketch and also for Cards for Men who's theme is Father's Day. The cute image is one I found when googling fathers day images!!
Then we have a card for the Truly Scrumptious challenge for which I have used their sketch, and the adorable image is last weeks freebie from SJ's Little Musings.
And finally, this card is for the challenge over at the Creative Cottage which is 'pink', I know I have a bit of blue but it's mainly pink!! For this card I have again used a freebie from SJ's Little Musings this weeks image, and both ellie's are actually blue so I paper pieced the pink one as my pink pen has run out!!
Well that's probably it for a couple of days now, my youngest has her RAD (royal acadamy of dance) ballet exam tomorrow, I'm more nervous than her, she doesn't care atall!! The out-fit is in the car already, don't want a repeat of when I took Lillie for her exam just before christmas and got there without out-fit and ran into the back of another car dashing back in time for the exam, and then she missed the tap one, but passed her ballet thankfully! My wrist still hurts when I turn it certain ways and that's 6 months on, I mentioned it to the dr last week and he said if it still plays up a year on it will possibly mean surgery oh joy!! Will need to book it in at the start of the school summer hols as working with 1 hand might be a problem especially when it's my week in the sink lol!!! But we'll jump that hurdle if we get to it!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Charisma Cardz - spots and stripes

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge over at Charisma Cardz and this week it was down to me, so I just nice and simple 'spots and stipes'.
I've made a diamond fold card, I tried doing one of these a loooooong time ago and found it pretty tricky so I bought some card blanks which is far simpler lol!! I had the base all dp'd up weeks ago but it was the image and embellies that I was stuck with, then going through my images I found this dear little hanglar girl sent to me by my friend Lim way back when ASFoS started up! Now I am terrible with swap images, if I love them I don't want to use them as I may never get one again lol, but I thought it was time to use her and let her go boo...hoo...!! I then very simply layered her onto a purple card and used some adhesive hearts from Poundland. We are sponsored by Regina at
who has donated the prize of the cute critters and sentiments set and also a choice of 3 more sets!
The girls have made gorgeous examples, so don't forget to check them out! Have fun!
I would like to enter my card into the Cute Card Thursday challenge which is 'anything but square'.
Well Big Brother started last night, looks like an ok mix of people but time will tell! Tv is now worked out around BB and littleBB for the next 12/13 weeks lol how sad!! It was funny as I saying "come on put a good looking chap in, I've spotted a couple" one was called out 'oh hello John James' (think that's his name!) an Australian blondie and cute to boot, I'll be watching him that's for sure lol!!

Perfect cards for Fathers Day -well for my hubby anyway!!

I found a new craft shop last week it was crammed full of delights but I couldn't have a good ole look around as the girls were with me and always have to have a touch of things although I ask them not to. Can you believe I only bought 1 thing!?! It was a decoupage sheet by Kanban which included a blank card which is A5 when made up, an envelope as well as the die-cut decoupage sheet. My hubby has an old Morris Minor car, ugghh I hate it, to me it's an old persons car, thankfully it's not been in action since before we got together, it sits in the yard where he works! He has been desperate to get it home so he can work on it and get it road worthy again, oh noooo.......... he has been wanting to do this since we got together nearly 10 years ago, I want him to SELL IT lol!!!! Anyway as soon as I saw the Kanban sheet I couldn't believe it was even the same colour! (he wanted to paint it bright red or yellow but his ex wouldn't let him so it ended up a cornflower blue, I think if it were bright red it would funk it up a bit!).
I believe the kit was meant to make only the one card but I managed to squeeze 2 out of it lol!! This one is actually the decoupaged one with 4 layers and on the card that was provided. This one is made from the bits I kept back and is actually the one I like best even if it does have that awful car on it!! This card is an 8x8 scalloped blank and was really quite nice to make a bigger card for a change as I am so used to my 5x5's!
I would like to enter these cards into the Creative Cottage Happy Fathers Day challenge and also the Simon Says Fathers Day/male card challenge (if it qualifies not having a stamped image?).

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 107

Good morning, it's all wet and dull out here today, hope it's better where you are!? Well what a fantastic response we had to our A Spoon Full of Sugar birthday celebrations over the last 2 weeks, thanks to all that entered.
This week our challenge is themed 'floral delights' for which we would like to see something floral on your project i.e. floral papers, flowers, punchies......
I have used the fabby Wags n Whiskers image that we had to play with a couple of challenges ago, she is just so cute!! Added a couple of flowers on which I glittered the edge of the top one and the centre is a pearlised button which I snipped the back off of!!
We are sponsored by Bunny Zoe Crafts and Nikki has very kindly donated 2 of the gorgeous new wedding collection magnolia stamps along with some pearls and mini roses, wow! (apologies I did have a piccie, but for some unknown reason I can not for the life of me move my pictures around my posts it just won't let me and it's so annoying!).
I would also like to enter my card for the following challenges :
Cute Card Thursday = black, blue & orange.
Cupcake Crafts = dazzle us.

The prize this week is a $20 gift voucher and has been kindly donated by our sponsor Simon Says Stamp.

A cake and a card!

During last week I was set the task of making a cake for our nephew (on hubbys side of the family), Michael is turning 18 and is a chef or chef in training not sure which really! Anyhow between Matthew, his brother and sis-in-law they decided on a chef's hat!! Oh yeah, I said if it's not in one of my books hard luck!! Well in the end I googled chef's hats and this is how it turned out
I didn't ice any details on as they have an 18 candle to put on it! Not one of my best cakes by far but a) I wasn't given much time or budget and b) it wasn't in a book!

Here is the card that I made to go with the cake, I went with the chef theme and once again thanks to google found what I think is a great piccie! Very simple but I really like it!
